Bring it Home!  Take action TODAY to support UPK Ratio Decrease Delays.

ECEA has worked with CDEC and RAC members to push the UPK ratio decrease by 2 years while CO Shines is undergoing a refresh.  While Dr. Roy indicates that she appreciates the recommendations, CDEC mentioned in their public rule making hearing that they were still waiting to hear back from their parent council for their perspectives on this recommended rule change.  Dr. Roy also emphasized heavily that they needed provider input and that it was VITAL before the May 28th rule making hearing at 1 p.m.

THE ASK:  PLEASE email [email protected] and request that Dr. Lisa Roy  approve the RAC recommendation to not decrease UPK ratios for 2 more years. PLEASE TAKE THIS ONE LAST OPPORTUNITY TO ELEVATE YOUR VOICE IN SUPPORT OF THIS POLICY RECOMMENDATION TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS.  You may be a level 4 or 5 already.  We still encourage you to take a minute to communicate your support for the recommendation to help stabilize the industry overall.  Don't allow any back tracking on this....it's a critical industry need so lean in and let them know!

7/31/26 Insider's Edge - ECEA Members Only - Advocay Position
New funding is coming, statewide and locally. Whether it comes from a progressive tax, a sales tax, a lodging tax, or a special district, the dollars can strengthen private programs or quietly replace them. The difference is design. Before ECEA supports any funding initiative, we look for a specific set of requirements to be built in, and they matter in a specific order: level the playing fiel...
