CCCAP Needs to be Fixed -- We Need Members Help to Accomplish that!

ECEA members have nearly full legislative coverage in the state of Colorado!  That means that we have a unique ability to have an impact on legislators but WE NEED YOUR HELP!

CCCAP MUST Be Fixed

Colorado currently has $27 Million that it underspent in 2026 to preserve the program and enable it to last beyond 2028.  We need a fast, dependable solution that will keep the program solvent.

Senator Scott Bright has that solution.  This years bill, SB26-180 would make it possible to fund CCCAP without having to tax anyone in CO.

We need every program possible to do one or more of three things:

1) Call your legislators.  You can find them HERE.  Schedule a conversation. It's better if it's face to face but if you absolutely can't do that then please talk to them over the phone! Tell them what the freeze is doing to your business.  Ten minutes helping them to see the local impact of a business in their jurisdiction.

2) Invite them to tour your facility.  We can help schedule this if you like!  Tell us what works and we can reach out for you to set it up....or you can do it yourself.  Either way, let us know!  We want to send a board member or our Executive Director to support the action step.

3) If you can't do the other items, PLEASE AT A MINIMUM, send them an email telling them how CCCAP freezes are hurting your business.  Be specific and make the story resonate as your own!  Then tell them that there are solutions that they can bring.  They need to hear from you NOW, while they are off session and can engage in discussions with you.

Also, you need to know when legislators are running for office.  During their term, did they work to SUPPORT or OPPOSE your business?  You can see what they voted for while they were in office on their CO Legislator page and should consider that when deciding who you vote for in November.  If you need help figuring this out, just schedule with Dawn.

Let's Talk Solutions!

We've got a summary document that will help you with this.  Senator Scott Bright has a bill that didn't pass in 2026 and it MUST pass in 2027 (with a new bill number).  Use this document to familiarize yourself with the  strategy.  The new bill language may be a little different but we want legislators to engage with Senator Bright over the issue before session even begins.

Tell ECEA what action step you have taken!  We need to track and make sure that we are getting statewide coverage.   If you need help with any of this just reach out at [email protected].
