A Brief Reprieve from the Chaos

Have you noticed that everyone seems so angry these days?

There's a deep distrust of authority. A real worry about which voices we can believe. Oppositional positions on every issue known to humankind, with no middle ground in sight — just blame, and a steady erosion of the social grace that used to hold conversations together. Anyone else feel this wearing on them?

The pitch is only likely to climb. Every decision seems to carry so much weight, pressing on all of us day after day. The decision tree feels clear enough: Is our state on the right path? Do we need change? If we do, who actually shares the approach I believe in — and is transparent and authentic about it? Are the new demands being placed on every passerby the right thing for our communities? Can we trust what anyone says from a political platform? Wants and needs are proclaimed at the top of everyone's voice, and none of us knows with certainty which "solution" will make our communities stronger and which will drag the economy further down.

Sigh.

Everyone feels the stress of the pressure to get this right. Our families feel it too — their stress more evident now than ever before. And November is still just under four months away. The fervor is very likely to build with each passing day.

So take a minute.

Focus on what you can control. Smile at the next person who walks into your office. Take a moment to hear where they are and what they're carrying. Use your business skills — and your remarkable people skills — to offer an exceptional experience to every single person you come into contact with.

Because here's what I know about you: you are the backbone of your community. Whatever lands politically in Colorado, ECEA will be involved and engaged to make sure your business stays strong. That's our job — to be in the rooms, have the hard conversations, and elevate your voice so you can keep your focus where it belongs: on the children and families you serve.

Stand strong. Stand firm. Stand kind. Care for the people you serve, and you'll give everyone who crosses your path a brief reprieve from the chaos — a moment of peace, and a moment of kindness.

Silence Speaks - Family Fun Fair Cancelled

We had over 500 people attend last year and we've heard how much everyone enjoyed the day.  We reached out to see who would send their families to particpate.  We heard from one program.  For that reason our board voted to cancel the event.  We only want to pour time and effort into the things that really matter to you!
